Mother of slain woman holds vigil, says daughter's 'voice will not go away'

A vigil was held Thursday for a slain woman whose body was found in a closet of her Sanford apartment.

SANFORD, Fla. — Latrice Randolph's mother, Octavia Horn Bryant, said she will fight for justice and had very stern words for the men accused of stabbing her daughter to death.

“Her face will not go away. Her voice will not go away, because I will not go away,” Bryant said. “Baby, I will stand up for you until the day I die that those fools will not get out and come free.”
Two brothers remain jailed in Seminole County Thursday after they were found in the apartment while Randolph's body was in the closet, authorities said.

“Because God’s gotcha. You know what? Momma’s got ya!” Bryant said as she drops the microphone.

Jimmie and Jeremiah Elliott were arrested Tuesday, investigators said.
Randolph’s mother wanted to check on her daughter after she received text messages from Randolph’s phone with incorrect answers to security questions she had asked, police said.
Sanford police said the brothers were living in the apartment for two days with Randolph's body before they were seen by the victim's mother and a maintenance worker, who opened the door.
The brothers fled the home at the Hatteras Sound apartments, but were caught soon after, police said.
Jimmie Elliot remains jailed without bail on a premeditated first-degree murder charge.
Jeremiah Elliott remains jailed without bail on charges of compounding crime felony punishable by death or life, and resisting arrest without violence.
