Nephew of world-famous golfer faces child porn charges in Orange County

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The FBI picked up Rodolfo Martinez Rodriguez at his Windermere home Wednesday on charges he produced and distributed child pornography.

Investigators said Rodriguez is the nephew of Puerto Rican professional golfer Chi-Chi Rodriguez, who is a member of the World Golf Hall of Fame.

The FBI started investigating Rodolfo Rodriguez after investigators got a lead from the Norfolk Police Department in Virginia in October.

A 9-year-old girl told police she had been communicating with a person later determined to be Rodolfo Rodriguez on Instagram, the FBI said.

The man would pose as a child as young as 9 and ask other Instagram users for sexually explicit photos, investigators said.

When police in Norfolk issued a search warrant for Rodolfo Rodriguez’s Instagram account, they found that he had contacted several children to solicit sexually explicit photos and videos, the FBI said.

He was being held without bond at the Orange County Jail.
