Jailed Kissimmee man hit with more child porn charges

KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A Kissimmee man jailed on child pornography charges last week was hit with new charges on Monday. Now, the sheriff's office said it is working to find out if Jon Cantino, 18, has more victims.

Osceola County Sheriff's detectives said after receiving information about possible criminal activity, they served a search warrant at a Mallard Circle home where Cantino lived with his parents.

According to investigators, Cantino told detectives he downloaded child pornography. They said he allowed investigators to search his computer, where they found hundreds of pornographic images of children.

Cantino was arrested Thursday and booked into Osceola County Jail on 10 counts of possession of child pornography.

Sheriff's officials said as the investigation into Cantino continued, they discovered nude photos of two 15-year-old girls on Cantino's phone.

According to investigators, the two girls, both Orange County residents, were located and told detectives that Cantino asked them to send the photos to him.

Investigators said one of the girls told them she met Cantino twice for consensual sex at his home.

Cantino's father told Channel 9's Ryan Hughes that his son has the mental capacity of a 14-year-old and has difficulty differentiating between right and wrong. He told Hughes that he doesn't believe the allegations of wrongdoing by his son.

Investigators said Cantino's parents told them that their son rarely left his room and was often online.

Sheriff's officials want to know if there are others who Cantino contacted online.

"We're very concerned, and that's why we're reaching out to the public. If there are two victims, there could possibly be more," said Twis Lizasuain of the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

Cantino is being held in the Osceola County Jail without bail. His newest charges include 10 counts of transmission of material harmful to minors by electronic device, five counts of certain uses of computer device and two counts of lewd and lascivious battery.

Cantino will face a judge Tuesday on the new charges.
