New COVID-19 vaccine satellite site opens at Barnett Park: here’s who’s eligible for a vaccine

ORLANDO, Fla — Two new federally-run satellite locations will open this week in Central Florida.

Starting Thursday, FEMA will move the satellite site from Kelly Park to Barnett Park at 4801 West Colonial Drive.

“Coronavirus

FEMA will administer vaccinations from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Saturday.

The site will continue to offer COVID-19 testing.

On Sunday, the site will move to South Econ Park at 3850 South Econlockhatchee Trail.

The sites are walk-up only, meaning that no appointments are offered.

FEMA offers various satellite sites to allow eligible persons to be vaccinated at no cost.

Those currently eligible include:

  • People 65+ (must be a full-time or part-time Florida resident).
  • People 60+ will be eligible beginning March 15, 2021.
  • Long-term care facility residents and staff members (any age).
  • Health care professionals with direct patient contact.
  • All educators and staff in schools/colleges/licensed day cares.
  • Sworn law enforcement officers and firefighters.
  • Extremely medically vulnerable/high-risk (must have required state form).
