• No. 1 Florida State looks to end SEC dominance

NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. - With UCF celebrating its bowl win, another school from Florida hopes to also come home with a trophy.

Florida State is just a few days away from playing for the national championship.

The red carpet was rolled out for FSU at the Newport Dunes Waterfront Resort and Marina, the site of this year's Beef Bowl.

As part of the fun, quarterback Jameis Winston cut the beef and even served coach Jimbo Fisher for dinner.

Fisher knows Seminoles fans won't be the only ones rooting for his team against No. 2 Auburn in the BCS championship game.
    Call it SEC fatigue.
The Southeastern Conference has won the last seven BCS championships and Fisher understands that a large number of fans, mostly outside of the South, would like the reign to end.
Fisher said, "It (would bring) credibility. The SEC deserves everything it gets. It's had a tremendous streak and a tremendous run, but there's other great football teams. We do carry that burden as far as being able to win for our league and the other leagues out there. We said all along the ACC is a great league and it would be very important for us. Not only for Florida State, but the ACC."
