No injuries when seaplane crashes in New Smyrna Beach

NEW SMYRNA BEACH, Fla. —

No one was injured when a small plane crashed in New Smyrna Beach Saturday morning.

Volusia Fire Rescue officials said the Cessna seaplane crashed in Lake Ashby off Boy Scout Camp Road around 8:30 a.m.

Investigators said the pilot was trying to land, but something malfuntioned with the landing gear causing the plane to flip over when it hit the water.

The two people on board were able to get out safely
