NTSB releases preliminary report on Merritt Island plane crash

MERRITT ISLAND, Fla. - The National Transportation Safety Board released a preliminary report on a plane that crashed on Merritt Island last week.

In it, multiple witnesses said the plane’s engine was not running in the moment before the aircraft came plummeting down in the backyard of a home.

Kenneth Marks, 65, and the owner of the plane, Jon Kish, died in the crash.

Investigators said Marks was checking out the plane because he wanted to rent it for personal use.
