Ocala man charged in death of infant daughter

MARION COUNTY, Fla. — A grand jury in Marion County indicted Jeremy Murray, 29, on first-degree murder and child abuse charges in the death of his infant daughter.

Authorities said Murray gave conflicting versions of what happened to the 6-week-old child, who was taken to the hospital on Jan. 30 with bruising on her forehead. A medical examiner’s report said the child’s injuries were not consistent with either of Murray’s stories.

The baby was taken to two hospitals and later taken off life support.

Murray was being held with no bail Thursday morning. His arraignment is scheduled for March 19.
