Names released in fatal ATV crash in Seminole Co.

GENEVA, Fla. — One person was killed and another injured in an ATV crash in Seminole County Friday night, officers said.

The Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the ATV was speeding westbound on 1st Street in Geneva when he lost control.

Daniel Huffman, 22, of Oviedo, was killed, and Wayne Badertcher, 23, of Chuluota, was flown to the hospital in critical condition.

“Apparently, one of them came down the road at a high rate of speed doing roughly 40 or 50 miles per hour. [They] ran into a sign at the end of the road and went into the trees,” said resident Byron Yorks.

Both men were ejected from the vehicle and officials still don’t know which man was driving.

The crash is still under investigation.
