ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. —

The race for Orange County Commission District 3 is still up the air.

The race between candidates Lui Damiani and Pete Clarke is still too close to call.

The Orange County Supervisor of Elections Canvassing Board is reviewing 2,800 ballots that need to be verified and among those are ballots that will help decide the race in District 3.

The board, made up of judges and elections employees, is looking at provisional ballots; which are ballots cast on Election Day that could not be determined if they would be counted based mostly on last-minute address changes.

On election night, Damiani and Clarke were only about 50 votes apart, with Clarke in the lead.

The District 3 seat was formerly held by Mildred Fernandez, until she was arrested in April 2010 on fraud and campaign violations charges.
