As the Thanksgiving holiday travel season starts at Orlando International Airport, officials and airport employees have been bracing for the 1.7 million passengers expected to pass through the doors over the next two weeks.
On Tuesday, though, things were moving quickly at Orlando International Airport.
Kaylen Yost and her son Braden were heading to Philadelphia and couldn’t believe that crowds would be so light two days before Thanksgiving.
Sabrina Lindy and her family were getting ready to fly to Chicago and she said they decided to fly out of Orlando Tuesday so they wouldn’t have to fight the holiday crowds after their big trip to Disney World.
“We wanted to avoid that at all costs, so we’re heading home today,” Lindy said.
Officials at Orlando International Airport said they expect Saturday to be the busiest day of the Thanksgiving holiday travel season.
