Orlando police seek thief who took victim's belongings after fatal crash

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A search is underway for a man who took a pedestrian’s belongings after the victim was struck and killed, Orlando police said.

A man was crossing an area of 637 S. Semoran Boulevard at 9:11 p.m. Sunday when he was struck by a vehicle heading north on Semoran, police said.

Several of his belongings were scattered across the road after the deadly collision, police said. The driver of the vehicle stopped and called police, but investigators said another person in a separate vehicle, got out of their car and picked up the victim’s wallet or phone and left the crash scene, police said.

Police said not only was it a horrific accident, but the person's actions made it difficult for investigators to identify the victim.

Police said they're looking for whoever was in a light-colored sedan.

The victim's name has not been released.
