ORLANDO, Fla. - Authorities said they have arrested a woman who cheated insurance companies and clients.

Marie Fede is accused of posing as a chiropractor at a business called Belco Chiropractic Clinic in Pine Hills.

The 53-year-old allegedly charged dozens of unsuspecting clients for unlicensed services for three years.

Investigators said they discovered the clinic wasn't licensed and neither was Fede. Her two medical licenses were voided in 2010, before the facility even opened, records show.

According to authorities, Fede hired a licensed massage therapist to treat patients.

One car crash victim told investigators Fede picked her up from her home to get her to the clinic. The patient stated in court documents she believed that Fede was licensed because "she always wore scrubs and had a stethoscope around her neck" and was "instructed to sign several blank treatment forms without dating them."

Those forms are how detectives believe Fede was able to allegedly collect more than $10,000 in fraudulent insurance claims. She was arrested and faces charges that include operating a clinic without a license and false and fraudulent insurance claims.
