Osceola County school resource officer suspended after road rage incident, officials say

When school starts at Bellalago Academy in Kissimmee this year, there will be a different school resource officer patrolling the halls.

Osceola County Deputy Chris Blow, who worked at the school as a resource officer, has been suspended without pay after he was charged with aggravated assault with a deadly weapon following a road rage incident, officials said.

The incident happened about eight weeks ago. Blow is accused of following a restaurant employee who passed him while driving to work, the Apopka Police Department said.

When they reached the restaurant, Blow allegedly pulled into the parking lot behind the victim and got out with his gun and badge in his hands.

The victim told investigators that Blow’s finger was on the trigger when he was confronted and the deputy was yelling at bystanders and threatening to beat him up, officials said.

Blow left the scene but was later contacted by police.

He told officers that he was the one who felt threatened in the situation and denied following the restaurant employee, investigators said.

After witnesses backed up the employee’s account, Blow was arrested by Apopka police, officers said.

Blow was placed on unpaid leave shortly after the encounter and the Sheriff’s Office said there was an active internal investigation into his arrest.
