Palm Bay man allegedly used neighbor's Wi-Fi to download child porn

PALM BAY, Fla. — A Palm Bay man allegedly used his neighbor's Wi-Fi connection to down child pornography, authorities said.

Agents said they raided Juan Gonzalez's next-door neighbor's home near Malabar Road after they traced an IP address there, but quickly realized they had the wrong house.

Authorities said Gonzalez used his neighbor's unsecured Internet to download the graphic images.

They eventually tracked Gonzalez down at another home.

Agents said he admitted to downloading the child porn on his computers for more than 10 years.

Authorities warn the public that it's important to have password-protected Wi-Fi connections to prevent those kinds of incidents.

Agents said it took two months to put together their complicated case against Gonzalez.

"I don't know how to describe it. How could you do something like that?" said neighbor Ron Riggin.

Agents said they found more than 3,500 images of child pornography and that many of the children were under the age of 12.

Gonzalez remains jailed without bail.
