PALM BAY, Fla. - A Palm Bay man was arrested for allegedly sending threatening text messages to his estranged wife.

The victim told police she received several text messages from Robert Eagle, 42.

Police said in one of the texts Eagle threatened to "take out" the whole family with a 12-gauge shotgun he had just purchased. He went on to say he had reached his “breaking point,” according to investigators.

According to police, the victim said she feared for her safety and the safety of her children -- claiming that Eagle had a history of domestic violence and was addicted to drugs.

Officers were with the victim as she received several text messages from Eagle, according to a police report.

Police surrounded Eagle’s home and arrested him after a brief standoff.

He faces cyberstalking charges.
