Person shot at Holly Hill convenience store, police say

HOLLY HILL, Fla. — Update: The vehicle involved in the shooting was located, police said Monday. Robert Hofius-Castaneda told investigators he drove the vehicle to 10th and Center while his passenger, Jeffery, shot at the victim, police said.

Hofius-Castaneda admitted to being the owner of the gun that was used in the shooting and that he hid his vehicle after the incident, police said. Hofius-Castaneda said he didn't know Jeffery's last name or the reason behind the shooting.

Holly Hill police say they are looking for whomever shot an individual in front of a convenience store Sunday afternoon.

Officers arrived at the Speedy Mart at 949 Center Avenue around 12:45 p.m. and found the victim with a superficial gunshot wound to the arm, police said.

Surveillance video from the store shows that a gray Mini Cooper may be involved in the shooting, officers said.

Witnesses told police they heard three rounds fired. Officers said the bullets hit the victim, an employee’s car and a window at the business.

The victim was taken to the hospital for further treatment, officers said.

Investigators are speaking with the victim to determine more information about the shooting/

Police are not releasing the identity of the victim currently.
