Pharmacist arrested on charges of trafficking oxycodone

ORLANDO, Fla. — A pharmacist was arrested Tuesday at the Cure Aide pharmacy on Lake Underhill Road.

Officers said Ramesh Pathak is facing 22 counts of trafficking in oxycodone and 22 counts of conspiracy to traffic.

The Metropolitan Bureau of Investigation said it has been looking into Pathak since last year.

Investigators said since that time, he has supplied more than 5,000 oxycodone pills to local drug trafficking organizations.

The dealers would go to Pathak with fake prescriptions and he would fill them and mark up the price for his participation in the illegal activity, investigators said.

Also, the Department of Health has served an emergency suspension order to stop Pathak and his pharmacy from distributing drugs.
