Pilot lands disabled plane on Palm Coast street

PALM COAST, Fla. — A student pilot was doing maneuvers on the southwest side of Palm Coast when the pilot's plane lost power.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers said the pilot called the control tower at the airport and reported an emergency.

The pilot then landed the plane on the roadway at Bridgehaven Drive and Palm Coast Parkway.

No one was injured in the incident.

A wing of the plane struck a truck parked on the side of the road as crews were moving the plane from the road, but no serious damage was incurred.

The plane is sitting in a nearby parking lot while it is determined how to remove it from the area.
