Pleas made for information on carjacking victim's missing dogs

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A woman whose two small dogs were in the car with her when she was carjacked Wednesday morning has put out a desperate plea to get them back.

Orange County deputies said Eileen Pagan was at a gas station near North Orange Blossom Trail and Plymouth Sorrento Road just after 10 a.m. when she agreed to give a teenager a ride.

But deputies said the teenager, Deon Sykes, 14, became violent and pepper sprayed and punched Pagan in the face.

Deputies said she was forced out of her vehicle as the suspect drove away with her two dogs still in the back seat.

Deputies were able to chase Sykes and eventually used a PIT maneuver, or precision immobilization technique, to stop him.

When they took Sykes into custody, deputies said the victim’s dogs were no longer in the car.

Pagan’s friends and family were working to get information on where the dogs may be.

The first dog, named Frankie Rey, was described as a white Bichon Frise/poodle mix with a short puppy cut. He weighs about 22 pounds and sometimes walks with a limp.

Frankie was last seen wearing a black collar with silver accents that has a tag with his name on it.

The second dog, named Chico, was described as a white and tan spotted Chihuahua, weighing between 12-15 pounds.

Chico’s bark can sometimes sound like a duck, according to social media posts.

Anyone with information on the location of Frankie Rey or Chico is asked to call 626-695-0532.
