Police: 29 criminals off Parramore streets following bust

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orlando police announced Monday a major operation that got criminals, guns and drugs off the street.

The department launched the investigation because Parramore residents have been complaining about crime.

Officials said an AK-47 assault rifle was seized after investigators served one of three search warrants.

Three months ago, neighbors voiced concerns about drugs and violence.

Police said they made 29 arrests, five handguns and an AK-47 were found, more than 430 grams of cocaine and more than 780 grams of marijuana, as well as ecstasy, methamphetamine, and Xanax were confiscated.

The names of those arrested were not released.
