Police: 3 injured in collision involving Sanford police car

SANFORD, Fla. — Three people were injured early Thursday when a motorist ran a red light and collided with a Sanford police car, the Sanford Police Department said.

The crash happened shortly before 1 a.m. at South French Avenue and West 25th Street, police said.

Investigators said the police officer wasn't at fault in the crash.

The officer and two people in the other vehicle were taken to a hospital with minor injuries, police said.

Investigators said the officer has been released.

No other details were given.
