Police: 3 middle school students arrested in murder conspiracy case

LAKELAND, Fla. — Three middle school students from Lakeland were arrested and charged after police said the trio planned to cause "chaos," including murder, at Sleepy Hill Middle School.

According to Lakeland police, school personnel contacted police after seeing disturbing information on a student's notebook. Police did not say what information they found on the notebook.

The student, and two others, 12- and 13-years-olds, are charged with conspiracy to commit first-degree murder, conspiracy to commit aggravated battery and conspiracy to construct destructive devices.

Police said they don't believe other students were involved.
