Police arrest two men suspected of robbing Brevard Co. Walmart, Target

MELBOURNE, Fla. - Investigators in west Melbourne arrested two men they said ripped off big-ticket items from local stores.

Police believe Jerry AllGood and Martin Hinkle are responsible for thousands of dollars in thefts from stores like Walmart and Target in Brevard, Indian River and Saint Lucie counties.

Police said there were more than a half-dozen thefts at a West Melbourne Walmart in about a month.

Lt. Richard Cordeau with West Melbourne Police said detectives compiled surveillance video of the thefts and started seeing the same faces and the same suspects.

AllGood and Hinkle are in custody facing multiple charges of grand theft.

Police said the crimes were far from sophisticated. The thieves simply rolled out of the store with stolen merchandise, police said.

Neighboring law enforcement agencies are trying to see if the pair can be linked to similar crimes in Viera and Titusville; Sebastian, in Indian River County; and Port St. Lucie, in St. Lucie County.

"Right now, our detectives are still working with the other law enforcement agencies to piece everything together to see how many (thefts) they might be responsible for," Cordeau said.

Police said they suspected the thieves were selling the stolen merchandise for drugs.
