SANFORD, Fla. - A Boost Mobile store clerk was stabbed multiple times by a robber in Sanford Wednesday night, according to police.
Police said they were called to the store on Park Avenue around 8 p.m. after witnesses saw the victim lying injured in the road.
Despite his wounds, the clerk was able to point officers in the direction the suspect ran.
They said the assailant broke into a nearby home on Marshall Avenue to hide.
No one was inside the home, and the suspect was taken into custody.
"We do not know if the victim and suspect had previously known each other. We do not yet know what the suspect was after, whether it was cell phones or money," said Shannon Cordingly with the Sanford Police Department.
Police have not released the condition of the clerk.
