KISSIMMEE, Fla. - Kissimmee police are urging residents to stop using their rent drop boxes following a rash of rent check and money order thefts.
Police said burglars targeted the Wellington Woods and the Outrigger apartment communities over the weekend.
The thieves allegedly used some kind of sticky substance to pull the checks out of the boxes.
Police said they’re working with apartment communities within the city to better secure drop boxes.
They said it’s best for residents to drop off their rent money during business hours.
