Ocoee boy, 5, rushed to hospital after being pulled from pool

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A 5-year-old Ocoee boy is in the hospital after he was pulled from a pool Friday night, just hours after an 18-month-old in Pine Hills drowned in a pool.

The tragedies come on the same day Orange County rolled out a program stressing water safety.

The 5-year-old boy’s condition is unknown, and deputies stayed at the scene at the Stafford Landing Apartment.

WFTV learned the boy was pulled from the bottom of the pool by another young boy.

Residents said another child almost drowned in the same pool earlier this month.

“The kid started to drown and it’s not like a typical scenario where you think someone is drowning and flailing in the water, and screaming out. The kid just went under and another tenant that lives here found him and pulled him out,” said resident Justin Clark.

The 18-month-old was found in a family swimming pool and was rushed to a Florida Hospital, where the child died.
