MELBOURNE, Fla. - Melbourne police said they arrested a man accused of robbing a hospital gift shop at knifepoint.

Police said Robert Wallace walked into the Wuesthoff Hospital gift shop Monday, held a knife to the clerk and demanded money.

The clerk was not injured.

An officer said he later spotted Wallace riding a bicycle on Wickham Road, but when he tried to stop him, Wallace made a run for it.

"Had a K-9 respond and the Brevard County Sheriff's Aviation Unit, and after a little bit of a search in the woods, we were able to find the suspect," said Sgt. Sheridan Shelley of the Melbourne Police Department. "We did find an undisclosed amount of money on this individual as well as a knife. Unknown if this is the knife that was used in the robbery."

Wallace was arrested on charges of armed robbery and resisting an officer with violence.
