Lake County man shoots wife, daughter with stolen gun, police say

A Lake County man is facing attempted murder charges after police said he shot his wife and daughter.

Charles Greene, 53, got into a fight with the victims early Saturday at their home in the 1600 block of Crest Avenue in Leesburg and opened fire, police said.

When police got to the house, Greene’s daughter was standing in the driveway with a non-life-threatening gunshot wound on the left side of her body, according to a report.

She told officers that her father was still inside the home with her mother.

Police said they found the woman on the floor with multiple gunshot wounds, which police said appeared to be non-life-threatening.

According to a report, Greene got upset with his wife and daughter, and said that no one loved him before he pulled the trigger.

He hit his grown daughter in her arm and leg, and his wife several times in her wrist and torso, police said.

The victims were taken to Orlando Regional Medical Center and are expected to survive.

Greene was arrested at the scene. Police said the gun used in the shooting was reported stolen from a gun store in 2015.

Police said they’re working to recover several guns stolen from the store.

Greene remains in jail without bond.
