Police: Man fatally injures friend after backing into him in Orlando parking garage

ORLANDO, Fla. — An Orlando man is accused of fatally injuring his friend by backing into him and pinning him against the wall of a downtown Orlando parking garage early Wednesday, according to an arrest report.

William Aloupis, 25, was arrested and charged with manslaughter by culpable negligence after police said he backed into Jonathan Anglada, Orlando police said.

According to the arrest report, surveillance video shows Aloupis and a friend walking with Anglada into the Lincoln Plaza parking garage from the elevator and then leaving an intoxicated Anglada leaning against a wall.

Aloupis and the other friend walked to the far end of the fourth floor of the garage and drove back in a 2017 Honda Civic, the arrest report states, before backing the vehicle up toward Anglada.

When the vehicle got close to where Anglada was then sitting, Aloupis inexplicably drove forward before backing into him and pinning him against the wall, police said.

One of the friends called 911 and said they found Anglada with injuries to his face in the parking garage.

Authorities took Anglada to Orlando Regional Medical Center where he was pronounced dead shortly after 4:15 a.m., police said.
