Police: Man tries to lure girl, 15, in Cocoa

COCOA, Fla. — A 41-year-old man tried to lure a 15-year-old girl who was on her way to school, the Cocoa Police Department said.

Audencio Orozco Fuentes approached the girl and asked her for sex earlier this week near Cambridge Drive and Duke Way, Cocoa police spokeswoman Yvonne Martinez said.

The girl told detectives that the man grabbed at her clothing, told her she was pretty and asked her to come with him, Martinez said.

Investigators said the girl reported the incident when she arrived at school. She said she had seen the man before.

“The victim in this case was able to help law enforcement make a sketch of the suspect,” Martinez said. “They took that sketch in the area where the suspect was initially spotted and they made an arrest.”

Investigators also enlisted the help of a company called FaceLogics.

“We were able to give them a description over the telephone and they generated this computerized sketch, and based on that our patrol units and investigators went into the area yesterday and were able to locate (him),” said Martinez

Fuentes was booked into the Brevard County Jail on a lewd and lascivious battery charge. He’s expected to face a judge Wednesday afternoon.

No other details were given.
