Police: Man used hole in fence to stare through 10-year-old girl's window

CASSELBERRY, Fla. — A man is accused of looking into a 10-year-old girl’s window next door to his home, and police believe he may have done it by cutting a hole through his own fence.

The father of the young girl said he’s concerned for his daughter and is considering moving out of the neighborhood.

Meanwhile, Jeffrey Schlaudecker faced a Seminole County judge after his arrest Thursday morning.

He was charged with prowling and voyeurism on a person under the age of 19, which are misdemeanors.

A judge granted Schlaudecker a $750 bond.

The victim’s father, Frederick Riddick, said he’s nervous the suspect will be out of jail soon since the bond is low.

Riddick said he saw Schlaudecker dropped off to a home next door by a friend Wednesday night.

Minutes later, he said he heard a loud scream that came from his daughter’s bedroom.

“She runs out of the room, and she didn’t have any clothes on at the time. She’s like, ‘The neighbor was looking in my window,’” said Riddick.

Casselberry police said when their officers arrived, they found a whole cut in the fence large enough for someone to crawl through.

Riddick believes the suspect crawled through the hole and walked up to his daughter’s window shortly after she had gotten out of the shower.

“It is kind of shocking, because I kind of figured maybe he has been this for a while, because I have another daughter that sleeps on this side of the house,” Riddick said.

As police arrived, they said they found the suspect hiding behind a post in his yard wearing a robe.

While the judge issued Schlaudecker a $750 bond, he told the suspect that law enforcement will be watching.
