Police officer indicted in ex-FAMU football player's death

FLORIDA — A grand jury in North Carolina has indicted a police officer in the shooting death of a former Florida A&M University football player.

Randall Kerrick has been charged with voluntary manslaughter for shooting and killing former FAMU student Jonathan Ferrell last September.

Ferrell wrecked his car and went to a nearby home to ask for help but the resident thought someone was breaking in so they called police.

The officer shot Ferrell 10 times in the chest.
