Police: Osceola school worker sends inappropriate texts to student

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Osceola County detectives said a man whose job was to watch over children and keep them safe at school was actually sending dirty texts to a teenage girl.

Curtis Pratt, 41, is a campus monitor at the Zenith School on Irlo Bronson Parkway in Kissimmee.

Detectives said school officials received a tip that Pratt may have texted inappropriate pictures of himself to a 17-year-old girl at the school.

According to officials, Pratt admitted to it.

"He didn't act surprised. He did cooperate with the investigation," said Twis Lizasuain of the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

According to investigators, Pratt also admitted to wanting to pursue a relationship with the underage girl.

Neighbors said Pratt seemed like a decent guy.

“Well, right now, I'm surprised because I never expected that of him," said one neighbor.

Once Pratt bonds out of jail, he will be returning to work for the Osceola County School District, pending an investigation.

"That's not good. I think he should pay for that," said Freddie Rivera, a relative of a student.

School officials said Pratt would be moved out of the school and would be given a job where he's not in contact with children until the investigation is complete.
