Police: Shooting victim dies after crashing car in Daytona Beach

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Beach police said a man is dead after a shooting on Eldorado Street.

Police responded to the shooting shortly after 7 a.m. Saturday.

The victim was in his car when he was shot multiple times after a fight with an unidentified person, according to Daytona Beach police Chief Craig Capri.

Capri said the victim managed to drive a short distance to the intersection of Magnolia Avenue and Lockhart Street, where he crashed into a light pole and died from his injuries.

Police have not identified the shooter.

Capri said detectives are looking for two men who were seen running from the victim’s vehicle as possible witnesses to the shooting.

It was the second fatal shooting in Daytona Beach on Saturday morning. A 24-year-old woman was shot and killed outside a pizza restaurant while trying to break up a fight between Michael Guardino and one of her friends. Guardino is still being sought by detectives.
