Police: Stolen truck crashes into Palm Bay house

PALM BAY, Fla. — Police are still looking for the person who stole a truck and crashed it into a Palm Bay house, Monday night.

"Officers arrived on scene and saw that a vehicle had missed the curve, left the road at a high rate of speed, crashing through the side of a concrete block construction garage," said Sgt. Christian Van Zandt of the Palm Bay Police Department.

The crash left a gaping hole in the side of the garage.

Police say the driver fled the scene after crashing into the home on San Filipo drive.

The truck was reported stolen around 7 p.m. Monday night, a few hours before the crash, police said.

Police said they will use DNA evidence from the scene to help them find the driver.

No one was inside the home at the time.
