ORLANDO, Fla - The Orlando Police Department's traffic homicide unit shut down West Colonial Drive near Kerry Drive for more than three hours while they investigated a fatal crash Saturday morning.
Police say two females were inside the car when it hopped the median, struck a tree and caught on fire along West Colonial Drive around 3 a.m.
The two women died inside the car, according to officials.
Investigators are still trying to figure out why the car went off the road. They do not believe any other vehicles were involved.
Police say the women are in their 20s and where coming from downtown Orlando. Names will not be released until the next of kin have been notified.
