Composite sketch released of man who attacked, abducted jogger

CLERMONT, Fla. — Lake County officials released a composite sketch of a man who they said attacked a jogger, and then kidnapped her.

Police said the man was driving a green truck with a white stripe on the door when he pulled up and began talking to the victim about 9 p.m. Saturday in Clermont.

"The individual tried to engage her in conversation or tried to engage her in conversation, offered her a ride and she said, 'No,' and she kept jogging," said Lt. Michael McMaster of the Clermont Police Department.

Police said as the woman was about to turn and run away, the man forced her into his vehicle near Grand Highway and Pitt Street.

"He demanded sexual acts of her," said McMaster.

Police have not said much more about what happened as the suspect drove the victim around except that she was able to talk her way out of the truck near the location where she was originally abducted.

"She is very fortunate she was not hurt in anyway," said McMaster.

Clermont police said they don't have any similar abduction cases.

Police said the suspect is described as a black male in his mid-20s, standing about 5 feet 10 inches tall with a muscular build.

Police are actively searching for a suspect, putting up CrimeLine fliers in the area.

Anyone with information regarding this crime is asked to contact the Clermont Police Department.
