Still no arrest in Orlando apartment shooting

ORLANDO, Fla. — Authorities continue to investigate after a woman was shot and killed in her Orlando apartment early Monday morning.

Witnesses said they called 911 after hearing shots at the Landings at Timberleaf apartments near Raleigh Street.

Investigators said they believe the victim, Lashondra Collier, 31, was arguing with the gunman just before the shooting.

The man fled after pulling the trigger, police said. He has not yet been located.

Police said Collier knew her attacker, but officers said they aren’t sure what the relationship was or what may have sparked the attack.

Collier was taken to a local hospital, where she later died.

Police said a witness was in the apartment at the time of the shooting, but police aren’t saying if the witness was related to either the shooter or the victim.

“It's really sad that these things go on on a daily basis over here,” said neighbor Kerry Sims. “It's really not fair to the other people in the community that people have to feel unsafe.”

Meanwhile, neighbors remained concerned that the shooter is still on the loose and possibly still armed.

So far, there is no suspect description, but officers said they do know who they are looking for.
