HAINES CITY, Fla. — Police in Haines City said a man has been arrested after he fatally stabbed his wife early Sunday morning.
The incident happened around 1:15 a.m. at the couple's home on Richmar Avenue in Haines City.
When officers and emergency crews arrived at the home, the suspect, 49-year-old Tommy Jones, was being held down by the victim's two adult sons.
The stabbing victim, 56-year-old Juanita Jackson-Jones, was pronounced deceased at the scene. Police said her two sons were injured while trying to subdue the suspect. They were treated and released from a local hospital.
Tommy Jones was taken into custody. He is facing charges that include first degree murder and two counts of attempted murder.
