Police: Woman points gun at driver, two children in road-rage incident

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — Daytona Beach police are searching for a woman they believe pulled a gun on a woman and two children during a road-rage incident.

Police said that on Tuesday, Tonia Williams reported to police that she was on South Nova Road and Orange Avenue when a GMC pickup truck sped behind her.

She told police she realized she may have cut that person off while trying to get in the middle lane, and a woman in the passenger’s side of the GNC rolled down the window and yelled, “What the (expletive) is wrong with you?”

Williams told police she told the woman, “I understand you’re mad, but please don’t disrespect me like that, we can talk if you want outside the vehicle.”

Williams said that’s when the woman pulled out a gun and pointed it at her while yelling, “I don’t fight with my hands.”

“She just pulled a gun out and pointed it at me and my babies,” said Williams. “My kids were terrified.”

The pickup truck made a U-turn to go south on Nova Road, so Williams followed it to get the license plate number, police said.

Williams’ daughter was able to snap a photo of the license plate, which bared a Florida disabled veterans tag.

Police have not been able to find the registered owner of the vehicle.

Williams is one of three people Daytona Beach police said has a gun pulled on them during three separate road rage incidents last week.

Police said they do not appear to be related and no one was hurt.

Williams was able to give police a description of the woman and her daughter took a photo of the vehicle that police used to identify the owner, but police have yet to find her or the GNC Sierra pickup truck involved.

Williams said she just wants the woman behind bars.

“You got to put a firearm on a woman and her two kids? I mean, come on, that’s not right,” she said.

Police said the investigation is ongoing.
