• Polk Co. man arrested, accused of secretly recording young girls showering

POLK COUNTY, Fla. - A man has admitted putting a hidden camera, shaped like a pen, in his own bathroom to catch young girls undressing, according to the Polk County Sheriff's Department said Thursday.

Investigators said they found 53 videos inside Dewey Norris' Mulberry home. They said they have identified four teenaged girls from those videos.

"We've got 53 different events that we have captured so far in the last two years of him video recording children," said Polk County Sheriff Grady Judd.

Judd says Norris, who works for the school district in Hillsborough County, set up surveillance inside the bathroom where at least four teen girls would shower.

"The children had absolutely no indication, zero and they were mortified, absolutely mortified," said Judd.

The teens never noticed the camera because it looked just like a pen. Investigators said as Norris would set the camera up he also caught perfect images of his own face. Those images are now a part of the sheriff's evidence.

"I just think it's nasty, disgusting really," neighbor Laura Cruz.

No one answered the door when Channel 9's Karla Ray visited Norris' home Thursday. She noticed that his neighborhood was full of children.

"Ii would have preferred someone selling drugs or something and getting arrested because there's kids, families here," said Cruz.

Detectives said they took five computers from his home. They said they are checking to see if any of the images made it online.

"They're always sorry.  Sorry they get caught," said Judd.

Investigators didn't say why the teens had access to the Norris' shower.

Norris is being held without bond until he sees a judge Friday.
