Polk County deputy races with neighborhood kids

POLK COUNTY, Fla. — A Polk County deputy had a friendly challenge Friday evening with some neighborhood kids.

Jessica Garrett Marroquin posted video of Deputy Bo Owusu running with the children on her Facebook page and the Polk County Sheriff's Office shared it on its Facebook page.

The deputies showed up to Penny Royal Court in Lakeland for an animal control call and decided to race the kids, Marroquin told Eyewitness News.

Owusu told the children that if the kids beat him in the foot race, he’d quit his job. Luckily, that didn’t happen and Owusu is still with the sheriff’s office.
