Prosecutor: Zimmerman needs to state immunity plan

SANFORD, Fla. — Prosecutors want an answer from George Zimmerman's attorney on whether he intends to seek an immunity hearing for the former neighborhood watch captain.
 
Prosecutors filed a motion Wednesday asking that Zimmerman's attorney state whether he is waiving his client's right to such a hearing.
 
Zimmerman's attorney has told the judge in the case he doesn't need the two weeks she had scheduled this month for such a hearing.
 
Attorney Mark O'Mara had previously said he may want to wrap that hearing into Zimmerman's second-degree murder trial, set for June.
 
At an immunity hearing, the judge would have sole discretion to decide if Zimmerman is exempt from culpability in the fatal shooting of 17-year-old Trayvon Martin.
