Prosecutors drop case against man accused of dropping pants

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — The State Attorney’s Office has dropped charges against an accused serial flasher, the Orange County Sheriff’s Office said.

Wilfredo Nazario was charged with lewd and lascivious exhibition in November after deputies said he exposed himself to a woman at a bus stop.

Prosecutors dropped the case because of a problem with the witness.

Deputies believe Nazario also exposed himself in front of Orange County school buses in a separate case.

Earlier in 2015, Osceola County deputies arrested Nazario after they said he flashed passersby along the heavily traveled Highway 192.

Nazario, who accepted a plea deal in the case, was sentenced to probation for the misdemeanor charge of indecent exposure.

"Our concerns are this is a serial flasher and this is someone we feel should be behind bars," said Jane Watrel, a Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman. “You found out about a technicality. Our detectives have been aware of this all along. They are not about to let these cases slide or drop."

Investigators originally filed the case along with several other cases. They said they plan to individually refile two or three cases.

Nazario, who denied the accusations, remains jailed in Osceola County for violating his probation. He could be released next week, depending on the outcome of a hearing.

Deputies ask any other possible victims to contact the Sheriff’s Office.
