Push on to get State Rep. Horner to resign Osceola Chamber position

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. - State Rep. Mike Horner is still the president of the Osceola Chamber of Commerce, even after dropping his re-election bid for the state legislature.

WFTV broke the story last week when Horner appeared on the client list of an alleged east Orange County brothel.

The list was obtained by WFTV after Mark David Risner was arrested and charged with running a prostitution operation out of an east Orange County house which he owns.

Chamber board member Julius Melendez is also on the Osceola County School Board.

Melendez told WFTV's Kathi Belich he plans to introduce a motion calling for Horner's resignation as Chamber president. And he said he is hoping most board members agree.

He said the school board is considering pulling its funding from the chamber if Horner does not resign his Chamber position.

New records, which just surfaced yesterday, show Horner wanted a threesome with two prostitutes in 2011.

Notes from the alleged brothel that were obtained by WFTV, include one which said Horner wanted "freaks" in bed.

Records show Horner had been going to this east Orange County house since at least 2009.

"As a school board member we have to be a role model to our children and let them know that everyone is going be accountable for their actions," said Melendez.

Melendez said he hopes Horner will realize he needs to give up his $148,000-a-year Chamber of Commerce position.

"What we can do as a school board is not contribute money to the Chamber," said Melendez.

He said the school board also wants Horner off the Osceola legislative effort, to which it contributes $60,000.
