Rally to be held on gay/lesbian policy in Boy Scouts

APOPKA, Fla. — Some Boy Scout masters and parents will rally Friday in Apopka to protest a measure that would allow gay people into the organization.

The protest is part of a nationwide rally.

The purpose is to speak out against the possibility of the Boy Scouts of America changing their policy on gays and lesbians openly participating in scouting.

There is a resolution up for a vote Thursday, so the parents, scouts and scoutmasters are trying to make their wishes known in an effort to block any change in scout policies

Gays and lesbians are not allowed to openly participate in Boy Scouts of America, Eagle Scouts and Cub Scouts.
