Remains found in Volusia County believed to be those of missing Osteen woman

Skeletal remains believed to be those of a missing Osteen woman have been found, according to the Volusia County Sheriff's Department.
A sheriff's spokesman said the remains were found in a wood area approximately 100 yards behind Shirley Umbarger's home Wednesday.

Umbarger was reported missing Sunday, according to sheriff's fficials. Neighbors said she hadn't been seen in approximately two weeks.
Sheriff's officials said because of the condition of the remains, a positive identification has not yet been made.

Deputies said they recovered clothing similar to the type Umbarger, 81, was known to wear.
