Renter shot by intruder at Palm Bay apartment complex, police say

BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — One person was injured when someone entered his apartment through an unlocked sliding door and shot him in the leg, Palm Bay police said.

The incident was reported early Wednesday at the Country Gardens Apartments on Sunny Brook Lane.

Investigators said there were as many as two intruders and when they were confronted by the renter, one fired a shot and hit the man in the leg.

No information was immediately available on the relationship, if any, between the victim and intruders.

The man’s injury was believed to be non-life-threatening.
