Rep. Val Demings holds town hall meeting concerning Affordable Care Act

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — More than 150 people attended a town hall meeting Sunday on the Affordable Care Act in Orlando.

Rep. Val Demings held the forum as people are growing more concerned about what will happen to  the Affordable Care Act with Congress and the White House now controlled by Republicans.

Demings voted against a bill to repeal Obamacare.

"I'm not so sure if it’s going to be repealed, but I'm preparing for it, and that's why I wanted to hear what she's going to do if it's repealed. I don't want us to have to scramble,” said May Santiago, a resident who attended the town hall meeting.

"We're going to fight hard to keep the Affordable Care Act," said Demings, a Democrat who represents Florida's 10th Congressional District. "I'm not even entertaining the repeal of it. If God forbid it was, we're going to hit the ground running American people."

Demings is heading back to Washington Monday.

Sunday’s town hall meeting was much calmer compared with recent town hall meetings involving Rep. Daniel Webster, R-Fla.
